Welcome to the Hudson Valley Traveling Golf Club — a friendly, nonprofit group of golfers who love playing many championship courses, reconnecting with friends, and enjoying the game together. Every Monday and Wednesday, our members tee off at over 16 different courses with discounted fees across the Hudson Valley, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania.
With more than 50 scheduled outings each season, there’s always something on the calendar — weekly games, closest‑to‑the‑pin contests, fun tournaments, and our end‑of‑season dinner celebration. Whether you’ve been playing for years or are just getting started, you’ll find a relaxed, welcoming community that makes Mondays and Wednesdays the best golf days of your week.
Join the club today — membership is $35.00 (couples $45.00) for the first year, and $30 thereafter, (couples $40) so you can discover new courses, build lasting friendships, and enjoy every swing without breaking the bank. To join reach out to any of our officers.
How the Club Works
Closest to Pin –All players must tee off from the HVTGC Flag position. Your ball must be on the green to compete. For women, on any course where CTP contest is greater then 130 yards, and if your ball lies in the fairway, your second shot at the pin can be measured if it rests on the green. You must be a member to enter the contest.
Handicap – If you wish to enter any of the club tournaments, you must have an established handicap from our HVTGC outings after you have attended five outings. We provide a handicap program and is given to any member golfer on a weekly basis.
Apple Greens GC – A ball hit into the Apple trees may be lifted and dropped on the grass strip in-between the trees to avoid damaging the trees.
Highpoint -10th hole – If you feel you can not drive the ball over the water you may tee off from the most forward tee with a one stroke penalty.
Senior Tees (Men) – If you feel you have reached a point in your life where you should be using the Senior Tees you may do so. If the course does not have designated Senior Tees than you may use the tees that are closest to the green. There is no age restriction. You must clearly indicate on your score card you are using the senior tees by circling the letter S in front of your name so the handicap chairman can use the slope and index of the senior tees. You must establish a handicap from the senior tees before entering tournaments and using those tees.
Lost Ball – if you hit a ball off the tee and you are unable to find it, or if you find your ball is out of bounds, do not go back to the tee and hit another ball. Drop a ball where you thought it crossed the margin of the hazard and place it on the rough or fairway no closer to the hole. You then will be playing your fourth shot. If you had hit a provisional ball you will be playing your third shot from the tee. Or, if you hit into a red marked lateral fairway hazard, you will be hitting your third shot.
